Hazel Espinar received her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, IL. Upon completion of her law degree, she focused her studies in the field of Intellectual Property and earned a Masters Degree in Law (LL.M) in Intellectual Property.

Experience
Hazel’s work experience includes a position first as an intellectual property intern for two years and thereafter hired as a trademark and copyright attorney to an Intellectual Property firm based in Chicago. Shortly after leaving the Chicago firm, she worked as of counsel to a Northbrook, IL Intellectual Property firm and continues her affiliation with the firm. Hazel has worked both as an intern for the Illinois Gaming Board and in a contract position extended to her by the Board. At the Gaming Board, she assisted in issues such as gaming, corporate and administrative law.
Hazel is skilled in areas such as trademark protection and enforcement, TTAB proceedings, trademark infringement, trademark dilution, unfair competition, copyright prosecution and litigation, licensing, entertainment and brand counseling. She has advised clients in industries as diverse as fashion, steel, marketing, architectural, food, garden, literary, music, technology and film to name a few.
Pro Bono Work
Hazel currently serves on the Board of Directors of Art Encounter which is an Evanston based not-for-profit organization that promotes the arts. She also conducts entrepreneurial workshops in both Spanish and English in the field of business, trademark and copyright law. She is a volunteer for the Lawyers for the Creative Arts organization.
